The city Sarouck lies in central Iran. The knotted carpets belong among the best and most beautiful ones in the region and they have beautiful colours. The carpets have fine knots and are very durable. Previously they were mainly exported to America. Both carpets with a medallion as a continuous (all over) drawing carpets are knotted. The warp thread and weft thread are of cotton, the weft thread is often blue and a Senneh knot is used. The carpets pile consists of wool and it has a high pile density.

The Sarouck rugs often have large medallions with ornate flower designs, the edges often have a waved motif with leaves or a Herati pattern. Frequently used colours are dark blue, brick-red, pink, orange and beige. The Sarouck carpets can be in small sizes, but also very large sizes are frequent.
